Who we are...

BLFS is a coalition of public, private, and volunteer agencies providing services to Polk County, Florida seniors.

What we do...

BLFS meets on the third Wednesday of every month providing networking and educational opportunities for professionals who serve older adults. We also participate in health fairs, offer website resources, printed service directories, and partner with the community in offering training seminars on topics of interest to seniors and their families.

Highlights

 2012-2013 BLFS DIRECTORY

BLFS publishes a directory of its membership every two years and our target date for the distribution of our 2012-2013 edition is March 30. With every printing we try to upgrade the quality, increase our member base, and distribution. This year's directory will be a major upgrade and we are planning to double distribution to 55+ communities, hospitals, clinics, community gathering points, and member sites, starting with a 20,000 print run. We already have many requested sites waiting. Our bottom line is to provide to seniors, caregivers, and family members, a resource that they can hold in their hands to point them in the direction of services and connect them with people who can help. Our coalition continues to grow in numbers and in effectiveness as we build relationships and offer solutions to best meet the needs of Polk seniors. 

TO MEMBERS AND POTENTIAL MEMBERS:  The deadline for inclusion in our print directory is February 15th. You must be an active member by that date to be included. You can log into our website to see when your current membership is coming up for renewal. Renewing will add one year to your membership. If you have any questions please contact BLFS for assistance. Check out our website for all of the benefits of membership and the access it provides. You can join or renew online today. Individuals can sign-up as a friend of BLFS but only members will be included on the website and in our directory.
