Who we are...
Better Living for Seniors is a non-profit professional coalition of 200+ public, private, and volunteer agencies and individuals providing services to Polk County Florida seniors.
What we do...
BLFS meets on the third Wednesday of every month providing networking and educational opportunities for professionals who serve older adults. We also participate in health fairs, offer website resources, printed service directories, and partner with the community in offering training seminars on topics of interest to seniors and their families.
To See BLFS Interview
Polk Senior Games is an annual competition of athletic and recreational events for men and women ages 50 and up. The games were started in 1991 to promote a healthy, active lifestyle in our older generations. Now there are over 2600 participants in the games every year. Events range from track, swimming, and power lifting to scrabble, shuffleboard, and line dancing. Better Living for Seniors is a proud sponsor of the cribbage competition. Though it is too late to enter the games as a competitor this year, viewers are encouraged to come out and cheer on the competitors and volunteers are always welcomed and appreciated. Be sure to check the schedule of events to come root, root, root for the home team!
