BLFS is a coalition of public, private, and volunteer agencies providing services to Polk County, Florida seniors.

What we do...

BLFS meets on the third Wednesday of every month providing networking and educational opportunities for professionals who serve older adults. We also participate in health fairs, offer website resources, printed service directories, and partner with the community in offering training seminars on topics of interest to seniors and their families.

Highlights

 VISTE Annual Meeting Held

Volunteers in Service to the Elderly (VISTE), an active member in BLFS, recently held its annual meeting at their facility on E. Magnolia Street in Lakeland. President, Alice O'Riley reported hundreds of seniors impacted on a weekly basis with transportation, food assistance, minor home repairs, and more. The passion and resolve in that room was evident as each came up to speak and you could feel a deep sense of unity and purpose in the exchanges. At VISTE, their mission is clear.... "to enable the frail elderly to remain safely and independently in their own homes." They're doing their part in providing better living for seniors. We're proud to have them as members and want to applaud their efforts. VISTE relies on dedicated volunteers. Since 1983, they've been serving local seniors and needs increase each year.
